Business Development Manager
Datum Alloys is a global stockist and supplier of specialist alloys to industries such as electronics and aerospace. It currently operates from sites in the UK, Singapore and the USA, with distributors in Korea and China.
A unique opportunity has opened up for an experienced Business Development Manager to join the team in our UK office. Reporting to the Sales Director the successful applicant will primarily be responsible for the introduction of new accounts and developing these into regular business. These new accounts are anticipated to be gained through the supply of new products that Datum Alloys is currently bringing online. The successful applicant will also be expected to conduct market research, look for new opportunities for existing products and for other potential new products. There will also be some responsibility for servicing and maintaining existing business.
Although based at our Kingsbridge site the position will require a significant amount of travel both in the UK and mainland Europe.
The successful applicant will:
- Have a proven sales track record and experience in market research and developing sales into new areas.
- Be able to speak a second language preferably German or French
- Need to demonstrate a tangible record of success and a clear methodology for developing new business.
- Have experience of sales within the b2b environment.
- Be able to think strategically and look for new opportunities.
- Be prepared to travel extensively throughout the UK, Europe and Globally.
- Be prepared to travel globally to other Datum sites and distributor locations as and when required.
Salary: Very competitive salary dependant on satisfactory completion of probationary period plus bonus scheme.
